Human Resources Business Partner- Manager

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for providing comprehensive and timely service to the UNIQLO USA Store Support Center (SSC).  The HRBP will provide advice on best practices and guidance on the interpretation and practical application of HR policies, procedures and legislation.  The HRBP will support leaders as they strive to make an engaged workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides HR guidance to managers on employee relations issues.
  • Acts a single point of contact for employee questions/problems.
  • Compliance with all current employment laws.  Guides and advises managers in USA employment law matters.
  • Provides HR support in organizational change initiatives including job design, communications, terminations (including RIFs), promotions and new hires.
  • Investigates and resolves a variety of employee relations issues (e.g., EEOC claims, harassment, discrimination, ethics, resolve, etc.).
  • Works with managers to find solutions to employee performance issues and handles disciplinary actions to conclusion.
  • Ensures effective and good working relationships and exchange of best practices with global HR practices. Actively supports management-employee engagement activities.
  • Ensures fairness and accuracy in HR documentation.
  • Ensures consistency in all execution of HR policies and practices.
  • Trains appropriate staff on anti-Harassment policies as well as Diversity and Inclusion awareness.
  • Trains on the Code of Conduct and ensure all new hires receive an overview as part of On Boarding process. Updates training annually.
  • Works with internal Counsel and head of HR to update UNIQLO USA  Employee Handbook as needed.
  • Ensures a safe work environment and monitors store(s) for OSHA compliance.
  • Provides Store Operations and management with a “pulse” of the overall engagement of employees and works with management to ensure proper retention of key associates. 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field or human resources

Experience:

  • 4+  plus years of experience as a human resources generalist in a retail and/or wholesale environment, and in a leadership capacity.

Skills:

  • Mature individual with an keen business sense coupled strong objective conflict resolution abilities
  • Proven leadership skills in an USA HR environment with a track record of fairness and objectivity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills dealing with highly sensitive matters
  • Proven communication, organizational, and analytical skills
