MAIN JOB OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the UNIQLO IT leadership, the IT Project Manager, UNIQLO Retail related business area

will be supporting the UNIQLO North America New Store Openings and Retail related business are (POS/payment methodology / store digitalization / RFID…etc.) contributing to initiatives aimed at positioning UNIQLO as an innovative retailer with strong International Digital Operations as well as enable our multichannel strategy.

 

As recent the primary role of the IT Project Manager is to ensure on-time/on-budget opening of UNIQLO new stores in North America. S/he will be working with various business divisions such as store development, new stores, store operations and the other IT members in the North America market.

Specifically s/he will be working on procurement of equipment, vendor coordination and project management for getting All installations in proper sequence and make sure how everything works before new store opening.

 

UNIQLO North America continuously accelerates the development of its business in the US/Canada market and needs strong commitment and talents to drive this initiative.

 

Also will be taking retail related business area digitalization support (POS/Payment/In-store app for sale staff/RFID)

 

S/He is also expected to work with our Global Headquarter in Japan and other regions as needed to come up with innovative ideas for our stores opening procedures, commerce platform (POS/Payment procedure…etc.) and global governance, standardization for such purposes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In scope

  • UNIQLO USA
  • Systems: POS, Custom based store computer, Inventory management system (Oracle Retail), Pin pad (Verifone), Custom iPod application.
  • Multiple vendor coordination and project management for new store installation.
  • Fundamental knowledge of network and computer.

 

Procurement support

  • Equipment procurement requested from business division (POS, Pin Pad, Store Computer, iPod, RFID…etc)
  • Support equipment spec definition working with New store team.
  • Advise entire network and access point placements to store development team.
  • Collect quote from all vendors and calculation the budget and submit to the management.

 

Project coordination and management

  • Vendor contract and payment management for multiple vendors.
  • Project schedule management based on store opening schedule working with New store, store development team.
  • Vendor management and request to install based on the schedule.
  • Multiple projects management (Multiple concurrent project management in one term)

 

Store on-site support

  • General IT On-site support for the new store in the US/Canada market.
  • On-site support to ensure getting installed in proper way and sequence and conducting test.
  • Store Opening On-site support for urgent case.

 

Documentation

  • All documents related to store opening
  • Vendor quote and invoice management
  • Project report management
  • Periodical maintenance of new store opening files.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE – REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:

Work closely with IT leaders and the other members, as well as operational teams throughout the store development to new store team.

 

External: POS, Store system Application Vendors

Group: New Store Opening, POS/Payment, RFID leaders in JP also working EU, ASIA team as needed.

 

PRINCIPAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

  • 3-5 years of progressively increasing responsibilities with Retail Store (POS, Pin Pad, Store operation)
  • Bachelor degree (Computer science or Management Information Systems are preferable)
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to communicate with senior leadership
  • Good report creation and analysis skills
  • Ability to manage several projects at the same time and assess priorities
  • Ability to work with little supervision and report accordingly
  • Ability to provide high level service and follow through
  • Customer oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Fundamental Network and Computer knowledge
  • Proficiency in all aspects of business analysis: strong analytical skills
  • Logical thinking
  • Experience with implementation of Store systems
  • Experience in the Retail industry
  • Retail Operations experience
  • Overall knowledge of the Apparel industry
  • Experience to work in diversified job environment
  • Passion for current and emerging trends in Digital, CRM, POS applications, mobility, payment, security and consumer interactions
  • Knowledge of ERP and Supply Chain systems
  • Japanese language is preferable but not required (reading, listening, writing, speaking)
